Campbook

Hi everyone!

Here I'd like to share with you what I've recently made.
It's a kind of sketchbook to accompany me to the camp I'm going to. It has come out a little bigger than I used to make, but it's nice because I'll have more creative freedom :)

I used craft brown paper for the pages, orange cardboard for the cover and dark red paper for the envelope inside.  All the creatures are drawn with a black gel pen.
The beetle inside is my favourite detail :) I'd open that envelope again and again haha :)

Hope you're enjoying your summer!

Bye,
Ann

Travelbook

Hi everybody!

Summertime is wonderful because it's a great opportunity to travel, the weather is nice and you are free.

So here are some bits and pieces from another travel book, from the cover it's easy to understand my route.
It was a really very very interesting and exciting trip. Every city is very beautiful, but Tallinn left a very deep and lasting impression, it was truly amazing. I love Tallinn now with all my heart :)

Sometimes I had to finish some drawings later in my cabin not to lose time drawing all the windows of this or that building.

All the collage elements were added when I came back home. I mostly used tickets and paper booklets and leaflets they handed out in the streets. It's a really good way of using them, because some of them are really nice and funny.

Hope you're having fun!

Love,
Ann

Moscow in Sketches

Hi, folks!

Haven't been blogging for long, though I still spend a lot of time in the Internet and I wish I did less.
Here's my travelbook from my short stay in Moscow.
These 2 days were really very full of events and nice moments. Visiting art museums and seeing the pictures you know by reproductions in art books is fantastic.

The amount of beauty I saw was overwhelming. Everything was beautiful, from streets, parks, cathedrals, the Kremlin, to antique statues at the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts

And of course after walking the whole day long my legs were totally tired. So while sitting on a bench and having a short break I took out of my bag this travelbook and drew what was around me at the moment.

At the end I shared some thoughts about the trip not to forget it too soon and piled all the memorable stuff like museum tickets, metro cards and what not. It will be nice to look them through when I'm 64 :)

Soon summer will be in  full swing, so hope you're having a good time!

With love,
Ann

From Kiev with Love

Hello, friends!

Haven't been here for a long time. Studies and so on. But I visited Kiev and here is my travelbook with sketches and some writing. It was a great fun to be there. I like the idea of drawing and writing what you saw to recall it from time to time and to share with friends.

Hope you are doing well :)

Best wishes,
Ann

For My Friend Kris

Hi!

Today I have a couple of sketches like the two I shared with you in the previous post. I find it very good to draw something every day. I don't know why; it just brings the feeling of calmness, it's like a meditation a little bit (I did try to meditate)

Oh yes! I nearly forgot. A friend of mine, Kris, she loves lemons very much. So, the lemon sketch is dedicated to her.

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

After Hours

Hi! I haven't been here really long. During that period a lot of good things happened :)

Now I'm back with a few quick sketches I made today in the morning when my sister and I had a picnic.
It was really fine: we'd prepared some tasty things and cold tea and my sister played ukulele while I was busy drawing :) (Sorry, the pics are not great)

There was something that was very funny: a terribly giant grasshopper jumped right on our blanket and it scared us sooo much that we immediately changed our disposition. I'm really afraid of grasshoppers of any size :)

Hope you're having a lot of fun during these wonderful sunny days and...
Oh! It's already August! How time flies!

Notebook

Hi!
I've tried bookbinding a couple of times but I've never shared it here. So here is my latest thing. But again I'm not quite satisfied with the result. Some of the sheets are not firmly attached to each other...
But that is the reason to keep trying.
But the thing I really like in this notebook is the feather :) Hope you like it too.
Oh also there are pages of brown coloured paper with lovely papercuts inside (sorry, I forgot to take pictures of them)

Have a good day!

LM

Hello!

We're having such fine sunny days here in Russia, though it's rather frosty (20 C degrees below zero). Frankly speaking I don't know what to write... Tomorrow is St Valentine's Day, wish you a lot of happiness and love of course. Enjoy your life :)

Here is, as you can see, one more portrait of Laura Marling. I try to do my best drawing these pictures, but it's really hard to make it bear even a little resemblance with the original, and Laura is really very beautiful. Forgive me ;)

Hope you're having fun this last winter month. Yeah, spring is coming soon!

Little Love

Hi!

Though it's January (but it's almost over!) I've started some preparations for St Valentine's Day. In fact, nothing really special, just a pack of simple cards for friends :)

I wanted the process of making these cards be really easy in order to do many cards in short time.
So, all I had to do was just to print the words and cut the stencil. And then, using a sponge and acrylic colour named Aztec Gold I printed all the cards. And to finish the look I added some pretty twine. Done!
It's as simple as can be :)

All the best,
Ann

Hollow

Hi there!

I have never tried to create pictures with Photoshop and yesterday I (being in rather a pessimistic mood) started to work with this piece. Well, I should say I like it! I'm eager to continue experimenting with other backgrounds, colours, effects and so on :)

As for the picture itself, I was inspired by a song by Hoah and the Whale. It's called Peaceful, the World Lays Me Down. You can listen to it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F030M5fRNUw&noredirect=1 The whole look is a bit gloomy, ah? But that's alright.
Oh it doesn't agree with cheerful New Year mood, but that's because it's cloudy and wet here in Russia, we lack good frosty weather :(

Hope you had a merry Christmas!

New Year Is on the Way!

Hello!
Yes, I haven't been here very long, but now when I've got some spare time I can share my holiday cards with you :) I made them within a week, but all the materials had been prepared beforehand. It was such a pleasure to a card per day. Every morning I sat down at my sewing machine, arranged all the details of the cards and so on and so on :) I was really great... and here are the results!

Hope you'll have the happiest New Year!
